Discovery 2004 Highlights
Golf Tournament at MetroWest Golf Club Sunday, November 7, 10:00am–5:00pm
In addition to three days of valuable, information-packed sessions, FLS clients and partners can also enjoy some fun in the beautiful Orlando sun! The Discovery 2004 Golf Tournament takes place at MetroWest Golf Club, one of Orlando’s finest! This Robert Trent Jones, Sr. signature design features spring-fed lakes and mature native trees that border this fantastic golf course. MetroWest Golf Club will leave an everlasting impression.
Golf Tournament details:
- Fee is $104 per player, which includes transportation to/from The Royal Pacific hotel, cart with GPS yardage system, practice balls, lunch at the course, and entry in to the Daily Hole-in-One Challenge for $10,000.
- Format is a team scramble with prizes for the winning team, longest drive, and closest to pin.
- Transportation departs The Royal Pacific at 10:00am on Sunday, November 7, returning approximately 5:00 pm (in plenty of time to attend the 7:00 pm Welcome Cocktail Reception).
- Groups tee off between 11:00 and 11:30am.
- Rental clubs are available from the pro shop.
- Available slots are limited, so please register now by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Registration deadline for the tournament is October 15.
- You must pre-register for this tournament — you will not have the opportunity to register during your check-in at the conference.

Spa Experience by Mandara at Portofino Bay Hotel Sunday, November 7, 11:00am-2:00pm
This is your chance to meet, mingle, and relax before the event begins! The Mandara Spa includes fourteen exotic treatment rooms, a relaxation area, gymnasium, and hair and nail spa. It is a sanctuary where you can relax and discover the elixir of youth, not as a goal, but as a moment of blissful reverie. You’ll indulge in the exotic Mandara signature therapy, the Balinese Massage. Let us send you to a place where calm and serenity exist every moment during your Spa Experience.

Client Appreciation Cocktail Reception (Hosted by the FLS User Committee) Sunday, November 7, 7:00pm–9:00pm
To kick off the event, you’re invited to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a cool beverage as we welcome you to sunny Orlando, Florida! Hosted by the FLS User Committee, this is the perfect opportunity to relax, mingle, and get to know some of your peers before the event begins.
Networking Luncheon Robert Strong: Juggling Your Responsibilities Monday, November 8, 12:00pm–1:45pm
At this special presentation and networking event, Robert will captivate you with his amazing magic, breathtaking juggling, and outrageous comedy. Since 1985, he has performed in 17 countries, on national television, and twice at the White House. He was recently voted "San Francisco's Funniest Prop Comic." Robert now tours internationally, not only as a successful entertainer, but also as a director. He coaches variety artists and corporate executives on how to improve their "performance skills." In addition to the outrageous comedy and fine cuisine, you’ll have the opportunity to network with other professionals from your geographic region, sharing personal experiences and knowledge.
Learning Luncheon Louie Gravance: Creating the Happiest Workplace on Earth Tuesday, November 9, 12:15pm–2:00pm
The special guest speaker is Louie Gravance, a former motivation speaker for the Disney Institute. Louie has designed, developed, and delivered countless presentations for thousands of Disney World employees from all disciplines. He has traveled North America teaching some the largest corporations "Showmanship in the Workplace." You’ll hear directly from Louie on you can “Create the Happiest Workplace on Earth.”
Closing General Session & Prize Drawing Tuesday, November 9, 3:30pm-5:00pm
NEW! The Closing General Session has moved to Tuesday afternoon to ensure that every Discovery 2004 attendee has the opportunity to attend. In addition to hearing FLS management discuss future product and service plans, we’ll have a drawing for all of the biggest and best conference prizes, including the Discovery 2004 Grand Prize!
Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Party! Tuesday, November 9, 7:00pm–11:00pm
LIGHTS. . . CAMERA. . . PARTY! This is your chance to walk down the red carpet and be in the spot light. This Hollywood theme party and costume contest, located at Universal Studios, will razzle and dazzle you with fun, excitement, and entertainment. There will be plenty for everyone to do from getting down on the dance floor to riding TERMINATOR®! You’ll join forces with the TERMINATOR® in a battle to prevent mankind’s extinction at the cold, steel hands of futuristic cyborgs. Live action stunts, special effects and amazing 3-D film come together in an adventure that says “Hasta la vista, baby” to entertainment as you know it.
Don’t forget the FLS party tradition! Please come to the party dressed as your favorite Hollywood star! Everyone would love to see: The Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, Lucille Ball, Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe, Arnold Schwarzenegger, 007, and Indiana Jones, just to name a few. Oscar’s will be awarded to the best dressed, and to the attendee with the most creative costume.
There will be plenty of entertainment provided by your fellow attendees and our DJ will keep the dancing going, all while you enjoy fabulous food, cocktails, and entertainment.
Hot Topic Roundtables Wednesday, November 10, 9:00am–11:00am
This is your opportunity to discuss the hottest topics facing today’s payroll, tax, and human resource professionals. These roundtables are designed to provide an open forum in which to learn and share your experiences with industry experts, FLS staff, government representatives, and your peers.
